I recently found out that the shutdown/reboot options in the Fluxbox menu require a sudoers entry for the user.  Earlier in the session I had commented out those lines for security.  Only by doing some browsing and discovering the menu script was I able to figure out what the problem was.

Would it be possible to come up with another way to do this so that I don't have to have the current user in the sudoers file?  This is rather insecure, methinks.  Thanks for any feedback!

You can use su-to-root, and invoke the commands through a term window.  You will have to type your root password then.

You may want to try adding a display manager, but you will have to do some hacking to get it to play nice with the Kdrive X servers.
