Wats the actual difference between frugal and HD install.Which is advantageous?? Posted by kerry on June 21 2006,11:14
Frugal is small just like running from cd, hd install is like a small debian system it's not compressed like frugal so it takes alot more space(250-300mb). Frugal takes awhile to get use too. hd is kinda like any linux install.

u mean frugal is slower since compressed( thats the only difference).right?? Posted by kerry on June 21 2006,11:46
It depends on how you run it. For instance if you have enough ram you can run it with the toram option. I don't know if you can still do that with hd. I just run mine in ram and keep my settings and stuff on a usb key. I find it's a lot easier just to load from cd and not have to worry about updating or my system getting messed up.
