OK, I downloaded version 0.5.3.1, roasted it on a CD and booted it.

Then all appears to work nicely up 'till the following message:

Network device eth0 detected, DHCP broadcasting for IP.

It gets stuck there. No Ctrl-C or Ctrl-D or the three-fingered-salute helps me get past this message.

On this machine, I also run Windows XP-professional (yeah, I know, shouldn't do that, but you know how it is...) and Suse Professional 8.0 without any problems. These both use static IP adresses in my local network though.

I'm behind a router with DHCP services enabled, so this should IMHO not pose any problem.

What am I missing here?  Any suggsetions?

Thanx in advance,

PapaBear

Have you tried disabling the DHCP broadcast with a cheatcode (press F2 at boot)?

No, actually I didn't, I'm new at DSL and have (of course) not read any documentation yet ;-)

But I'll try and let you know!

I promised you I'd let you know, and it works.

I installed DSL and it's what I hoped it would be.
