I am trying to copy files to /usr/lib/hotplug to get my Netgear WG511 PCMCIA  card working.

From the (many!) posts I have read it seems I need to copy my .arm file to this location. However I can't; it says its read-only. I have tried running emelfm as su, still no luck.

I have also tried putting the firmware file, renamed as isl3890,  in my home directory but PRISM54 still can't find it.

IBM Thinkpad 600e, 160mb RAM, running "DSL toram"

Help please!

Code Sample
sudo /etc/init.d/mkwriteable

This command will open up a large part of the system for writing.  The same can be accomplished by installing a mydsl extension named something.dsl (as opposed to something.uci, something.tar.gz)

Thanks, that has indeed enabled me to write the files.

However my WG511 wireless card still won't play. I'm going to get a prism2 card as at least there appears to be better support for them...
