I burned the latest DSL a few hours ago, and since then I have been neglecting my pressing real work to play with it.It's terrific. I even got my old Epson printer to work, a rare feat for Linux distros, as everyone knows. And saving configurations is very easy, almost automatic. Setting up MyDSL was frustrating and unsuccessful. I created folders on my HD for the image and the programs, but the script kept insisting they didn't exist. I especially wanted AbiWord, because Ted is a monster. Anyway, I found that if I saved the .dsl file to the HD, lo! it was there when I rebooted. So who needs MyDSL? Thanks to Mr. Roberts and the developers who produced this marvelous thing. I'll be back. Posted by ^thehatsrule^ on Aug. 24 2006,05:09
You were probably looking to use "myds-load file.dsl" - what script did you use and/or what exact errors did you get?Placing the extensions on the root of the partition with the image will be autoloaded upon boot - one of myDSL's features |
