Firefox ProblemForum: User Feedback Topic: Firefox Problem started by: golions Posted by golions on Aug. 27 2006,01:46
I just had cable internet installed in my apartment, and I have it connected to a wireless router. I am running dsl off a CD, and I am having a problem with firefox where it sometimes can't find a website. I am pretty sure it is not a connection problem, because I can always access google.com no matter what, so I think this could be a DNS problem. Also, Dillo seems to be having the same problem. I did not always have this problem, firefox worked fine with other internet connections. Does anyone have any possible solutions to this problem? Thanks.

Do you have the same problem when you directly connected to the Internet? If not, the DNS errors should give you enough reason to contact your ISP. If yes, then you should check out your router (updates/settings/etc) Posted by okkokko on Sep. 11 2006,14:34

That does not sound like the same problem.Yours sounds more like a memory or some other hardware problem. Posted by roberts on Sep. 11 2006,22:58
If one is using mozilla or a newer firefox or even opera but sure to turn down the cache. If you are running on liveCD, or any frugal install then the default cache size will quickly use much of free ram space.
