I instyalled wmpinboard from the MyDSL list, thinking it was a sticky-notes type of program. I can't figure it out at all, and now I'd like to get rid of it.
Can anyone help me to uninstall an app?

If you're using a live CD or frugal install, a reboot should get rid of it.

If you have a traditional harddrive install, look inside the mydsl package to see what files were installed (tar -ztf filename.dsl).  In the case of wmpinboard the only file installed is /usr/bin/wmpinboard.
There is also a menu item, which is near the top of .fluxbox/mydsl.menu (or .fluxbox/menu in older versions of DSL). Just delete the wmpinboard line and save the file.

Pinboard is a kind of sticky note..actually it is a pinboard or bullitin board..you can type short notes like "take out trash" and move them around the board

..you may find jpilot to be a better to-do list in addition to other pim, calendar functionality..
