I've been using DSL on a few computer over the past couple years, and have come accross a glitch on an old PII IBM laptop (thinkpad 390) that I can't track down. When booting "dsl 2" to the cli I get no problems. When booting to X (using dsl, failsafe, xsetup, whatever) it boots fine, but freezes completely when going from X to the console in any way (exit, shutdown, reboot, switch to jwm, ctrl-alt-bksp, ctrl-alt-f1, changing resolution via the control panel, whatever). I have tried this using 2.4 all the way to 3.2rc3 and am finding the same problem. I can't even think how to find out what is finding the problem because I'm stuck with nothing when it freezes. I'm left looking at the DSL desktop with the mouse and keyboard not responding, no disk/CD activity, and it stays like that for at least an hour (ie. I've left it for an hour and returned with no change). Any thoughts on how to find the problem?
