I have write mkfs.msdos /dev/fd0 as root to formatting floppy disk to use with a freedos pc.
If i write mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /floppy,the error is the same.
The error message is "msdos command not found".
Why dsl permit only mkfs.ext2 /dev/fd0 ?
Puppy linux not have this problem...

Try mkdosfs and fdformat.

There is also a gui available for working with floppies

Place floppy diskette in drive then

1. Click DSLpanel icon.
2. Press Floppy Tool button
3. Press Format button

FreeDOS does read it!

Click the pink unmounted part of fd0 as shown on the dock app in the lower right corner. It will turn green when mounted.

Click on the green to unmount and it will turn red.

manually
mount /mnt/auto/floppy
