Ok, i install dsl a long time ago, and i try everithing i can do with alsa and the command modprobe. Im new in linux.
(sorry, but my english is very poor)
Alsa dont detect my sound card, i think because:

/proc/isapnp
Card 1 'IBM3670:IBM Mwave MDSP2780/1' PnP version 1.0 Product version 0.6
 Logical device 0 'IBM3680:WSS/SB'
   Device is not active

i try with modprobe snd-sb16-dsp , and nothing. The others tell me failed, error.

i can do something to active the sound card? or this is not the problem?.
Thanks, i wanna hear something :(

mwave does not have any native linux drivers...

Solution seems to be booting into DOS first, load the mwave drivers, then use loadlin to boot linux.  See < http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/MWave_MDSP2780 >

but in mulinux, with only config sound blaster io=0x220 irq=5 dma=1 , the sound works.

Dsl have a way to config this?

How are you booting that?  If it's through DOS... then that command should also work after you do the same with DSL (how are you currently booting DSL?).

I have installed dsl in the hd (no loadlin). sorry, i say something wrong, when i run mulinux i run it with loadlin.

Dsl run more slow with loadlin than hd install? Have different things?(the moludes stay there? save changes?)

I think some things will be slightly slower - probably just a little during boot (and probably some extra minimal memory usage), but it shouldn't be much different.

Thanks thehatsrule ..I have priority in the speed and performace than the sound. I survive without sound :P . I only use windows to play mp3. Thanks!
