HiIs it just me or does anybody else have a problem downloading for ibiblio. I have been trying to download 3.4, using DSL3.3, Puppy and damn-it WINDOWS from the < ftp://ibiblio > but it never completes the download. It says it's done but it's always off by 5 to 7 meg. Probably the same, but:< http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/damnsmall > Posted by mikshaw on July 11 2007,05:34
use "wget -c <url>" to resume a broken download.Ibiblio is slow, and does cut out sometimes, but in its defense it is doing a great service by donating server space to many open source projects and free information. Posted by ^thehatsrule^ on July 11 2007,06:20
Well, I find ibiblio to be one of the fastest ones around here. Even though that depends on which network I'm on, I use it as my primary mirror.I'm probably pointing out the obvious, but there are other mirrors and protocols. Interesting use of caps, though. Posted by WDef on July 14 2007,12:18
For large or problematic downloads I always use the prozilla or ProzGUI extensions. (I also use on other distros).Like wget -c it will keep trying until it gets the whole file, and it opens 4 connections at once by default (configurable). Can quit and resume too. Best downloader there is for linux imho. Posted by curaga on July 14 2007,14:56
aria2 is better imho ;)
