What's the benefits of kernel 2.4.34.1 announced in dsl 4.0?
Better hardware support for newest hardware?
Puppy linux have kernel 2.6.21.5,but requires at least a pentium3 processor to running fast,because kernel 2.6 requires more cpu cycles.

-More hw support
-updated drivers (less bugs..)

2.6 does not require that much, it just might be that puppy needs that much power for the GUI..

I've used 2.6.20.14 and 2.6.16.27 on a 586 with very nice speeds
