I am running a DSL 4.2.1 frugal install on my Libretto.

I want to NOT backup anything in /home/dsl as this is really just /dev/hda3, so like why back it up?

But < http://damnsmalllinux.org/wiki/index.php/Persistence > talks about files in /home/dsl that are not in my install.

So do I just make the files?

"To change which files are saved, edit /home/dsl/.filetool.lst (list of files to backup) and /home/dsl/.xfiletool.lst (list of files to exclude from the backup process)."

The Wiki like any other Wiki is user contributed.
It is not official, it is not reviewed or its contents edited other than any inappropriate.

The vast majority of the Wiki was created before v4.x came out.

What you have posted about is for v3.x.

Booting liveCD or frugal as a specifed user is new in 4.x and resulted in many changes throughtout the system.

Changes like the above are not made just to change things. There are reasons for such.

So plllleaaaseeee

point me to how to NOT include /home/dsl in the backup?

Perhaps I can even update the wiki a bit....

You need to edit /opt/.filetool.lst to remove the line /home/dsl & the home directory will not be backed up (this is for dsl 4 - for earlier versions .filetool.lst is in /home/dsl)
