first of all ... i'm pretty much a newb ... i just know how to get along with sometimes more or less a struggle (yep console isn't that mucho problemo)

so what do i want to do? ... is want to remaster dsl to fit my individual needs...simply said - cropping it down and changing some things - toss away this and add that and save some of my settings (eg bookmarks) ... after all that i wanna get dsl back on cd (or an usb-stick - but that's a matter of time  :;):  ) ...

how do i step towards that matter?  where to start how to add/remove without breaking package dependencies and so on? ...i must admit some tweaking prog would be best  - never give up hope ;)...

can you give me some hints?

Go check out the howtos at Knoppix.net, if you want to remaster from DSL keep in mind that I am using an older version of cloop that isn't compatible with what Knoppix is using now.

Yeah, I thought about something like that too, and that's why I used the create_compressed_fs from my DSL... still it won't work. When booting, he cant find the knoppix filesystem.

Do I have to use another binary (in the first line of my new created filesytem is a comment #Format V2.0 or something, which i cant find in the original DSL cloop... obviously, also the create_compressed_fs from DSL creates a cloop version 2.0, but where can i find the old one?)
