I want to install dsl on a 256 mb usb pen drive, wich I will use to have my personal computer with me when I go home on vacation and such.

What I need to know is if it's possible to install some additional apps like Firefox, mplayer, kopete/gaim and amarok on this distro.

Planned to make dsl as personal as possible. Will use my 60 gb mp3 player as a additional harddrive with personal documents on, and wonder if dsl will support it?

Yep.

There is a script for installing DSL on your USBkey
in your menu under Apps>Tools>Install to USB Pendrive ..

Once installed...

Add the firefox.uci, j2re1.4.2, ayttm.dsl or amsn.tar.gz and tcktk8.3 to a directory called " /optional "
( just make one off the root )
Add mplayer.dsl or xine.dsl ( there is an mplayerplugin for firefox )
All of these are available in the DSL repository , just click and run..

Leave yourself 10-20MB for making backups of your mail, settings, etc..

If you are using DSL 0.8.1.1 , then right click on the desktop,
goto apps > tools > Install to Pendrive
