Hey folks..

I have successfully tested the alsadebs package with a
M-Audio ( now defunct ) Delta 1010 and a Delta 66 .

Both work fine, and I have sound under DSL !!  yeah!!

What is doesn't have is a good mixer app..

aumix, wmix, and alsamixergui won't control all the i/o channels.

There is an RPM that id called Envy24control, which
services all 20 i/o's in this sound card .. I cannot find it
for Debian so far.. only RPM's for mandrake, etc...

But I am listening to mp3's and streaming audio,
On boxes that I couldn't before..

Alien is a program that converts between the rpm, dpkg, stampede slp, and slackware tgz file formats. If you want to use a package from another distribution than the one you have installed on your system, you can use alien to convert it to your preferred package format and install it.

Luv me now doncha!!!

FYI,

Alien is already installed on the knoppix disks so if you want to do a quick conversion just boot knoppix and convert the rpm into a deb and save it to your storage device.

Then reboot into DSL and dpkg -i thefilename.deb
