Thx for dsl , first up to date distro that runs great (from hd)
A bit hard for a newbie like me , but i'll read some mans and hopefully manage to configure it fully to my likes

!! it looks like it's gonna take some time to configure this one as a hd-linux (cause startuproutines are designed for live cd)
but in default install it's already faster than most linuxes i tried .

big thumbs up for DSL !!

Quick resumé :
Toshiba 320CDT (P1200Mhz/96MB ram/CD+floppy/max 800x600 /Xircom credicard modem/lan / YamahaOPLSA3 sound)
Everything works exept sound , sndconfig crashes on my laptop , For locales I had to change default langue in auto config file to be after i did hd install

Welcome to the Revolution!

oh, and sndcardconfig crashes for everyone, from what I understand. Don't use it.

Your laptop is about half again as fast as mine. I know I brag on it alot, but it's cool makin atticware usable again.

i figured i'd just tag on to this thread so as not to add more clutter...
yes dsl is great for older hardware. it's making my pII 350, 256MB seem fast. i'm a complete linux newbie but so far dsl has made it very simple to get up and running. i look forward to learning more.

thanks for a great distro!

DSL can tell that it is running from a HD install and I think it is customized to it. So I don't think you'll have to worry. Anyhow... Welcome to the revolution!

P.S. If you need any help with the HD install script, feel free to ask :)
