I'm excited about installing this distro on an older laptop.  I've installed Linux before but never worked with an on CD version.  I downloaded DSL and then burned it to a CD.  I set the BIOS to boot from the CD but I must be missing a step because the boot process just cruises on by the CD.  OK - so what's this newbie missing here - do I need to create some kind of floppy boot disk?

As an aside, for folks as inexperienced as I am it might be helpful to include a little more how-to set up stuff - out of the box step by step sort of thing.  It sounds like a pretty experienced bunch of folks hang out on this site but I think that this distro could have broader appeal if a little more info were available.

Thanks for the help.

Did you make sure to "Write CD Image to CD"?  (An option similar to that should be available on most CD writing software.)  I know that when I first created a Knoppix CD, I just burned the *.iso file straight to the CD, wasting a CD-R.

Well, at the moment, I've got my hands full setting up a terminal server.  When I get that done (probably a day or two), I could start typing up a more detailed set of instructions.  If they're any good, I could post them here or upload them, somewhere.

(After all the fun DSL's given me, it's only fair that I give back, somehow!)
