Does DSLinux support X? I need a small Linux just to connect to another Linux box running Fedora or Redhat or summing. ?(Viva Linux) \m/|0.0|\m/ Posted by AwPhuch on Oct. 27 2004,18:54
What about VNC?Brian AwPhuch Posted by Vince-0 on Oct. 28 2004,17:16
The whole point is to have just the console and Xwin installed only. Then u connect to the other Linux box, no VNC, no nothing else at all. So there is minimal hardware installed. I want to know if DSLinux has Xwin on it. <Viva Linux> \m/|0.0|\m/ Posted by AwPhuch on Oct. 28 2004,17:41
Not currently...But Im sure that with the expert people here they might be able to create a MyDSL app or something < http://xwin.org/ > looks pretty interesting Oh and the DSLinux name is pretty sweet....perhaps this might be a "mask" that DAMN SMALL LINUX could wear for those more "sensitive" individuals out there Brian AwPhuch Posted by skaos on Oct. 29 2004,13:14
By Xwin, do you mean xwin.org or a X-windows server? If it the latter, DSL comes with the Xvesa X-server. This is a lightweight server which doesn't use a XF86Config file - take a look at the following links for how to configure Xvesa:< http://www.xfree86.org/current/Xkdrive.1.html > < http://www.xfree86.org/current/Xvesa.1.html > |
