Hi,
I have problem to install dsl-0.8.3 at compact flash card on Compash flash to IDE adaptor. I used the frugal_instal.sh at dsl-0.6.. to build the system successfully. The frugal_instal.sh cannot find the boot.img to copy to compact card. After the system is bootup, it cannot find out the boot.img. I found the boot-0.8.3.img file at other source. I tried to copy it at /KNOPPIX directory on compact card. It still not works. Anyone to give me a suggestion to solve the problem? Thanks!

You cannot mix scripts from prior versions of DSL. Especially when there was a major change at version 0.8.0. If you boot from and then run the self contained script then there will be no problem using frugal to install to CF. The frugal script that is on versions 0.8.x has been updated to reflect the change from syslinux to isolinux.

Hi roberts,
I used the /usr/sbin/frugal.instal.sh at versions 0.8.x. I used the CDROM install. The processing is O.K util the processing "setting up system image on /mnt/hda1".
An error message showed on the screen:
frugal_instal sh : line 211. /mn/hda1/boot/lilo.conf... no such file or directory.
It could not find the lilo.conf so it could not property to boot up. How to fix this problem? Would you please give me a suggestion? Thanks.

Kenny are you running `toram' by any chance?? If so, don't. Run
live to use the scripts (otherwise you'll miss the boot directory
in versions 0.8.+)

Good point. I guess we need to not only ask which version, but how did you boot? I always recommend to boot dsl 2 when installing to hard drive, or frugal. That way you have the maximum memory to do the installation. I wouldn't think to do the opposite; using toram. Just shows that there are so many combinations and flexibility built into the system.

Hi guest, roberts,
Sorry for the late reply. You are right. After I had disabled the 'toram' option at the LiveCD, I used the frugal.instal.sh script to install the Compash Flash card. The problem is fixed. I added the option 'toram' only at the installation process. Thank for your help! :D

maybe the script could be changed to find out if it is being run from a toram system and request that the cd is mounted so it can get the boot.img from it?
