Still don't know why the heck netcardconfig doesn't see my Atheros a/b and a/b/g cards when I see "ath" stuff loading up.  Sure would be nice to configure this OS to connect to my .11a or .11g networks straight from the iso.

I've seen some suggestions here and there about how I can type a bunch of stuff, copy this here, move that there,  pump something...  And of course, in the examples, everyone always uses DHCP, no WEP, no restricted keys, etc. etc. etc.

Come on.  Let's bump it up to late 2003 and get Atheros on board this ship!!

In the meantime, I guess I'll just slap in the old clunker .11b card and enjoy some extreme 5mbps throughput.

There is some info at ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net for using Atheros cards
with ndiswrapper..

Now that ndiswrapper is included with DSL, it's worth a try.

Using the ndiswrapper interface in the DSLpanel, it is very
easy to setup both channel, essid, and WEP .

I use a MN-720 card with M$ drivers, WEP enabled, and it works great.
The Ndiswrapper tool makes short work of it, and by backing up one file
after the setup, it autoconnects flawlessly every reboot
without ever going thru setup again.

Have you tried my < script >?

after you modprobe the card, just use this, input your SSID (network name) wep key and go!

i know its named for use with usb devices, but it works fine for any device that DSL doesnt config automatically.

Thanks for the replies!

I did finally get DSL to network with .11a as ath0 using ifconfig and iwconfig.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to switch bands on this A/B card.  And which file iwconfig is storing the ath0 config data.

But I posted those questions in the networking forum.
