I hope  use DSL linux for my older PC like Pentiun 200  (for navigation in Internet) and
similar but: when I try to save my IP network configuration it running now. But if I reboot the machine .... lost our configuration .  I used dsl-0.9.0.1

if you add the following to your bootlocal.sh:
loadkeys uk.kmap.gz
ifup -a


replace uk with the keymapm you use.

I tried the suggested advice and, while it works for the keyboard, my network doens't fully configure. The computer is given a pc address but it doesn't get a gateway address. Any suggestions? :)

oh, you use dhcp? dhcp should automatically configure.
