Many, many posts ago in response to somebody's post somebody wrote that drivers for winmodems under linux are unreachable. Not true, page < Linmodems.org > contains many driver, eg. Lucent ones (common i toshiba laptops).

My question is if it's possible to add those drivers to DSL, they would be really useful. Aren't big - lucent about 350kb as DEB package. Maybe as a replacement for links or other stuff?

BTW: Anyone thought of adding Thunderbird? ;)

Good masters don't beat me, me's only asking  :)

As for Linmodem drivers, they probably will never be in the base iso. Especially not to replace Links.

Links rocks.

You gotta have a console mode browers, because some computers don't have enough muscle to run X.

Perhaps someone will make an extension for those drivers though.

As for T-bird, have you played with Sylpheed?

Many people like it better than T-bird. I include myself in that group.

But if you absolutely HAVE to have T-bird :p , grab the extension in the net section of the repository.
