dsl 1.0rc1 kernel arch ...Forum: User Feedback Topic: dsl 1.0rc1 kernel arch ... started by: weevil Posted by weevil on Mar. 27 2005,20:33
hello,i pulled an old ibm aptiva out of the garbage. it works fine, it's an old 486sx. looks like the kernel in 1.0rc1 does not include a math coprocessor so it's not booting. where can i find a kernel for a 486sx (math coprocessor included in kernel)? thanks Posted by tronik on Mar. 27 2005,22:05
you'll need to remaster DSL for a kernel wtih NCP support.then install/boot. Posted by cbagger01 on Mar. 27 2005,22:10
Someone here made a kernel recompile with math coprocessor emulation a while ago. Try searching the forums for keywordcoprocessor and search ALL FORUMS FROM THE BEGINNING or NEWER Also, an older version of DSL like version 0.5.3.1 should work fine with a 486SX |
