Boot with:

dsl xsetup

command and answer the questions.

If you are using dsl-embedded from inside MS Windows, then the answer is always "IMPS2 Mouse" even if you are using a USB mouse.

mine does the same thing from time to time.

for some reason its like the mouse maemon isnt starting fast enough or not detecting the mouse by the time it hits the desktop.
sometimes i cant use the mouse at all
sometimes i havet o wait about 5-6 seconds before it works.

this i with a USB Logitech wireless mouse. just the regular mouse not the MX series.

It may be that Xvesa resets the mouse port when starting up, and it takes a few secs before the wireless dongle has the power to send/recieve signals.

You probably wouldn't notice this in windows, beause it initializes the mouse and GUI before you get control of the mouse.
