Hello to everybody,
1) I need to remaster DSL 1.0.1 with kernel 2.4.30 that I compiled in a HD-install. I followed the DSL-RAM Remaster howto (by meo) . My question is: what must I do in the newcd/boot directory?
2) I have read somewhere in these forums that someone is using a kernel 2.6 with success: what must I do to make a remaster with this kernel (if I will able to compile it)?
3) Then, with the CD burned and bootable, I need to install DSL on a CF but I do NOT have a CF/IDE adapter.  I think to make use of a laptop with PCMCIA, boot it with my CD and then make a frugal install. Is it possible or someone has a better idea?

Thanks in advance

I answer myself about question #3:
dsl-hdinstall/frugal install does not work using a CF in a pcmcia adapter because it isn't seen as a "primary master". So the simple way is:
buy an IDE adapter,
change hardware and bios settings so that the CF is seen as a "primary master",
start from DSL live-cd,
make a cfidsk without swap partitions (to preserve CF from writings as long as possible)
do a "dsl-hdinstall".
Works!

A normal hd install will quickly destroy a CF card.

You need to use a frugal install on flash memory devices.
