has anybody purchased the DSL book from spidertools.com?.
has anybody read it ?.
I can't find the link to make a purchase.
I'd like some feedback before I buy it though.
I'll appreciate any feedback.

Ok, I found it. Its hard to tell how much of it is specific to dsl and how much of it is standard linux information. I take it that the cd is the training videos

Sorry, didnt think about the link.
< DSL Book >

Its about halfway down the page. I would be interested to know what you think of it.

It appears that this book is a good idea, because "a portion" will be donated to DSL. That, in and of itself, would be worth it and it would be nice to have a handy reference when I screw up my DSL and can't get to the net. It would seem that anything in the book is also here in the forums, however, would nice to have a DSL book.

So, if anyone can figure out how to buy one (there is no link that I saw) let us know.

that Zaurus looks interesting as well.....

Oh man...thats cool

I wonder how deep he actually got into the operation of DSL and not going over indepth of what linux is and the history of linux...

Making something like that with a solid HOWTO to backup changes to the backup dir for a frugal install would rock!

Green,

you have to select "shopping cart", then in the right column clic on "New to Linux", then in bottom of the page clic on "DSL book and training", and finally clic "add to cart".

Have luck!

I got mine yesterday comes with 2 cd's one DSL 1.2 , a tutorial CD and a well organized booklet  (pretty good acctually for a green horn like me) it does not intimidate with big language.

Is the book really DSL specific or generic linux? What is on the training CD?

I looked at Knoppix Hacks in the bookstore.  It looked like more Knoppix that dsl but still had some neat things.  Did you know that in the < Slashdot book review > it said:

Quote
Rankin has collected a "who's who" of Linux hackers to contribute to this book: John Andrews, creator of Damn Small Linux; Fabian Franz, creator of FreeNX server; Alex de Landgraaf, creator of Morphix; Simon Peter, developer of klik; Wim Vandersmissen, creator of ClusterKnoppix and many others no less accomplished, all of whom have contributed to the future of free software/open source development.

I'd love to hear what John has to say about the experience.
