IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIIONS LET ME KNOW.I DOWNLOADED DSL 1.3, BURNED TO DISK. IT SUCCESSFULLY BOOTS ON MY DESKTOP AND LAPTOP. PLUG IN MY PEN DRIVE IT IS RECONIZED AS sdb1 on my desktop. It is not found on my Alienware Sentia Laptop. I ran the script for installation to pendrive on my desktop. Each time it stops and claims wrong format. I have formatted the drive fat and fat32 under windows xp neither seems to work. Posted by cbagger01 on July 18 2005,20:20
Did you type "sdb" at the devicename prompt, or did you type "sdb1"?The correct answer should be "sdb", and you should be using the Install to Pendrive script (either USBHDD or USBZIP, depending on your computer BIOS. If in doubt, try the USBHDD first). Posted by BEH on July 19 2005,04:39
I used sdb1.I am going to try agian. Posted by BEH on July 19 2005,05:17

Now that his works great, how do I get the QEMU to work under DSL,?

The USB-HDD script is for installing native DSL.Running DSL under M$ requires the embedded version of DSL. Seek the version you want in the repository. 73 ke4nt Posted by cbagger01 on July 19 2005,18:55
Now that you have a working USBHDD install, you can boot into DSL and then download the 5-way install script from the DSL download site. Then open an xterminal window and type: tar -zxvf 5-way.tgz cd 5-way sudo ./5way_install.sh and then follow the instructions. You also might be able to do this from MSWindows by simply unzipping the dsl-embedded download with the destination for your "unzipping" being set to your USB drive. Good Luck.
