There's a strangely written but enthusiastic article in the Salt Lake Tribune about DSL and linux.

That was a great article, lots of humor. But I agree with it whole heartly. I also use DSL, and love it, running it on many differant systems including a old Hitachi laptop running a Pentium proc at 133 MHz with 96 meg of ram. I mainly use it, (DSL) for dedicated streaming music servers for background music. I almost always do the hard drive install though.

I was really surprised by the amount of traffic that article brought over, the Salt Lake Tribune must have a large reader base.

->to John

by the way...
how many people have downloaded dsl since it's first release?
I think that among the small distros now it should be ranking in the first positions...shouldn't it?

Davide, I really don't know for sure.  I don't have the download numbers.  It's been in the top 10  at distrowatch for a while though.

Maybe Linux people have a fascination with a certain Evil empire er Confederacy of Dunces in Utah.

I do have one more : 456 with 12 of ram (on old Toshiba notebook) and I'll try to work with it too. A problem it does not have a CD rom .. only FDD and 249 HDD. Is there any advice??
I've tryed FDD from other versions of  linux but there was no responce:-(
