I have just finished my download... (DSL) burn the image.. and booted the CD... Then comes the boot screen.. I write "knoppix" (hope this is correct) and the only thing i get is a black screen. I thing it has only to do with the grafix, cause if i press enter or write something i can see the prosseccors light turning on and stuff..Can anyone help?

when it gets to the boot screen with baby tux, just press enteror you could also go "knoppix toram" i think
i dunno if there are others

knoppix toram only if there's enought ram on the machine...I seem to remeber 128m are neededjust press enter, for now..if xvesa or xfbdev utilities will fail to satrt your x windows system, than...you'll be writing more

are you using a small monitor? sometimes the low-level boot sequences after baby tux boot at a godawful resolution, newer monitor's also tend to handle it a bit better... laptops are another storry.. it loves them ! ;) aim me : Phllippyarkie I'm trying today to re-develop DSL.

Im not in need of glasses.. maybe experience.. And it was 47 mb.. but you dont know if those bytes are corrupted .. misshandled etc...

It liked my machine with only 64 perfectly fine - and I believe there are at least 2 or 3 others thave have run it with 64 or even 32MB-RAM

yeah the image is about 47mb.. try an md5 checksum....

do you try fb800x600 at boot??? instead of just hit enter or type knoppix?i thing it works on knoppix, and i thing i try that on an older version on damnsmall, before i buy the 17" inch that i use now.

on a slightly unrelated note, DSL is the only live distro that I have found that does NOT have a blank screen when runnin VMware
