Hi there,I hope this is the right location for these questions. Having completed the HD install of DSL on my Toshiba Portege 7010CT with docking station, I have a couple of questions. 1. Once installed to HD, how do I use/install DSL extensions.? I have setup the DPKG and Apt-Get no problem, but I don't understand the use of DSL files..? 2. How do I get my PC making sound again.? Do I need to download ALSA.. or something similar..?? The main Install went with no problems, and I easilly found info on setting up the Swap usage etc.. But on the above two questions I am completely stuck.. Please help. Mick Posted by jls legalize on Aug. 16 2005,22:31
1) it is suggested not ti use .dsl for hd install, better to apt-get the application.there is no uninstaller for .dsl. .dsl are application that u double click form emelfm and they are installed or using the mydsl icon in the desktop or issuing the mydks-load command. 2)I f the sound card was functioning with the live cd it shoul work also on hd install Posted by LRS on Aug. 17 2005,12:24
