Hi!

I am new to Linux as I was captured by Evil Bill Gates who had not let me try out this wonderful OS for so long, but one day I found DSL ..... (LoL)

I have one question for the developers of DSL.

Can it save the settings back to CD and give me complete freedom from Windows and Gates ?

Check out the DSL Wiki (link on the main DSL page).  There is a brief answer in the Frequently Asked Questions section.  Also, using the search function on these forums (keyword backup AND restore) should give you the info you need.
