Burn ISO image to CDForum: User Feedback Topic: Burn ISO image to CD started by: moises Posted by moises on Nov. 04 2005,06:11
I downloaded dsl-1.5.iso. As for the older DSL ISO that I have, I attempted to burn it to CD using NERO 6 from Window$. It won't burn. All the disc in the drive does is start spinning and 10 seconds later it stops, then it starts spinning again and 10 seconds later stops, repeat until I get fustrated 20 minutes later. Attempted this with 3 new blank discs. Nero says, writing LeadIn, but with the older DSL version it took may be 5 minutes for the entire process. So I tried using DVD Decrypter to burn the image, again in Window$, but this program has a shorter temper than I, it quit trying after 10 minutes and didn't write either, it just attemted to write LeadIn. Has anyone had this problem or am I downloading the wrong image?

Hi!The ISO file is ok. Maybe there was some error while you downloaded it, or your burning device has a problem... Greetings! Posted by moises on Nov. 04 2005,08:50
Thanks ivrobi, I'll download it and try again. Posted by adssse on Nov. 04 2005,13:33
I would check the md5sum after downloading just to make sure it is error free.

How do you check the MD5SUM?

In the terminal type 'md5sum' followed by a space and the name of the file.Example: md5sum dsl-1.5.iso than compare this with the given md5sum in the matching file ending in .md5.txt Posted by cbagger01 on Nov. 10 2005,06:14
Or you can download an MSDOS or WINDOWS version of the MD5SUM checker.Search Google or download.com for a free checker For example, I use this one: < http://www.etree.org/md5com.html > You will then need to save the matching *.md5.txt checksum file that is for your downloaded *.iso file |
