Hi,

I used the frugal_instal script to install DSL on a CF card attached by an embedded PC board as an IDE device. The CF card is secondary master, so I had to edit the  frugal_instal script to accept my input 'hdc', it just worked fine. I didnīt understand this restriction, maybe it is obsolete and can be deleted.

Before I booted DSL from CD and followed the instruction for harddrive installation. On the 128 Mbyte card I setup two linux partitions with cfdisk and formatted them with mke2fs.

I'm having same problem. Trying to install on a CF in my laptop pcmcia adaptor /dev/hde1

I navigate to frugal_install.sh and edit it with vi.. but it will not let me save the read only file. So I copied the fugal_install.sh script to my hda4/home directory of hard disc, edit it there, and run that edited script. I then get an error saying it has not detected a linux partition even though /dev/hde1 and /dev/hde2/ appear in cfdisk. WTF??

Do I have to take the iso apart, edit the file, and re-make the iso , and burn to a new disc so it all runs from the CD-ROM drive????

What line do I need to alter to allow an install to hde1??

I then intend to move the CF card into the slot on one of my IBM 2800 thin clients. Will this work, Or am I wasting my time??
