Trying to do a Fruga linstall on a toshiba satellite pro cdt750 laptop. it has a 200 Mhz pentium, 96MB RAM, 2 gig hard drive. should make a snappy little DSLl machine, if I can only get it going.

Booting dsl, I get the boot prompts. regardless of what I type here, when I press enter it goes on to the line showing CPU detection: it finds a 199 Mhz Pentium portable chip, then Immediately thereafter the CDROM spins down and nothing further will  happen, even if I let it sit for a half hour. Banging on keys does nothing. ???  ???

I've tried "dsl expert" (I can't see the prompts, they're off the bottom of the display) and a couple of others, but there's no difference.

Suggestions? (FYI, Ubuntu boots on it without trouble.)

Fred ?

Download and try the syslinux version. I had the same problem with the regular iso.
