Love my DSM but for the graphic speed or lack of it. Runing on 1280 X 1024 display, very sluggish.

Tried to install XFree86, but could not get XFConfig to work properly.

Since the DSL Store sells the DSM, it would be reasonable to include an accelerated graphics driver. Any reasonable driver will do. If XFree86 is it, a proven Config file would be enough.

Is this your first linux distro?

Yes, it is my first Linux distro.

I had no problem installing XFree86 and making it work in Vesa mode.

When I try to get the "via" driver to work it says : "cannot locate via module" even though I can see via_drv.o in what I think is the normal location: usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers.

I'm trying to do the same thing, only my devices folder doesn't even have a via driver in it.

Does anyone know where/how to get a via.o driver for DSL running 2.4.31?

I have a need to use the S-Video out and this is, I think, the way to activate it through the XF86Config-4 file.
