download the dsl and install it (either using the mydsl app or using the mydsl button in emelfm)
edit the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file to meet your systems mouse/keyboard/video card/monitor setup
edit your /home/dsl/.xserverrc to use: exec /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 -nolisten tcp

if you want to have it install every time you boot you can edit the /home/dsl/.filetool.lst file to include the config file and place the dsl in the root of the mydsl device.

First I would suggest downloading xf86config.dsl. Then load your xfree86.dsl either through the "myDSL" button in emelfm or downloading it again through the myDSL extension browser. Now you should run the xf86config.dsl extentsion and and do your best to pick the options which seem to be the best for you system.

After it saves the config file open emelfm and go to /etx/X11/ and rename XF86Config to XF86Config-4(You might have to run emelfm as super user.) Now you should use the add2filetool button in emelfm to save the config file to backup or do it manually like safesys suggests.

Make sure you edit your /home/dsl/.xserverrc file to say exec /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 -nolisten tcp

Hit CTRL + ALT + BACKSPACE ( this will kil the gui) and type startx and see what happens.

Hope this helps its what worked for me.

It looks like it can't find the config file.  Are you sure that /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 exists and is readable?
