hI folks,

i've just got a small question:
How to prevent fluxbox starting at boot time?

I looked in rc.X files, edited .xinitrc but at startup it looks still like x and/or fluxbox is starting for a moment (screen flickering) then terminating due my edited .xinitrc!

Any suggestions how to boot in a "clean" text-mode?

Thanks and cheers,
Marko :D

Uncomment the 'startx' line from .bash_profile and restart

Or more specifically, comment the startx line (add # to the beginning of the line).

Actually, if you're using the default .bash_profile file you can remove everything below the "export IRCNICK=DSL" line, since the rest is just for starting X.  Removing/commenting the one startx line will be sufficient, though.

You're right, sometimes I should comment out my comments.
Ouch, I'm gonna comment it now...
