Hi, I installed the most recent DSL on a little toshiba 320CDS (32 mb ram, 1 gig hdd). It runs really well, much faster than windows did. I only have one problem: In both window managers I do not have a taskbar. I can still use the system because I have a context menu, but I cannot see what windows are currently open. As I said before, this affects both window managers that are installed by default. Can anybody help? I'm running DSL with fb800x600. Thanks.

Does your screen look like

- check the bottom

Maybe your monitor setting is offset by a bit?

Thanks, I didn't think of that. I don't have any of the little widgets on the bottom. That might be what it is. I'll have to check that when I get home later this evening. I'll post back later.

Yes, you were right! The task bar outside the viewing area of the screen. I started in fb800x600, but I have to kill x, run xsetup.sh, and then startx for it to take affect. Not that big a deal though, I rarely use this laptop! Thanks for your help (and sn9's help in #damnsmalllinux for the restarting X tip)
