Hello,

I try since a week to put the numlock on automatically at startup of DSL 3.0.1 / X / fluxbox

- i tried bios setup - numlock on or ... or off  ... nothing
- i tried "numlockx on" at console from fluxbox ... nothing
- i tried "numlockx on" in .xinitrc before starting fluxbox ... nothing
- i tried "xset led 2" ... the led is on, the numeric keys doesn't function.
- i tried the Numlock key : the led stay off, the numeric keys are working well.

Can somebody help me ?

Thanks,

Michel Vansaingèle.

There is no numlock application in DSL, as far as I know...it doesn't really serve a pupose other than saving you from pressing a button.  The xset led command affects only the leds themselves, and not the key action.

I'm not sure why the light didn't display when you pressed the key...maybe it was affected by the xset command?

There could be another way to control numlock in DSL, but that's all I know.

Using Xvesa, pressing the num lock does work, except the led doesn't come on for me.  Using the XF86 extension everything works though.

Not sure if there's an auto numlock for Xvesa or not - maybe an external program could do that

Update ...

The keypad keys are working when using a X application like Beaver editor. But not within XShell
