I use dsl 2.26 on my computer,it can be 1024x768,but when i remaster it from xvesa to xfree86,it just 800x600, how to set 1024x768 when using xfree86?
I have changed the file /etc/X11/XFreeConfig-4 and  set the value to 1024x768,but it does not work.

thanks.

I've never heard of DSL 2.26 =o)

You will need to make sure that your /home/dsl/.xserverrc is pointing to Xfree86 rather than Xvesa, but beyond that I can only guess.

Could you attach your XFreeConfig-4 and /var/log/XFree86* file(s) somewhere so we could view it?

You could also try using the xf86config tool in mydsl.

( btw he probably mean 2.2b :P )

the version is DSL2.2,sorry!

I have resolved it,. I check the log file and find the horisync out of sync , so I changed the value in config file  to a suitable number and it work!

thanks
