Hi there,

Was wondering if anyone has added a touchscreen to DSL?

I am looking at adding touchscreen that supposedly works on Mandrake, Red Hat and Suse linux and am not sure how different DSL distro is and what will be involved.

My 'kit' will be arriving Tuesday and am looking forward to this exercise.

Cheers.

Touchscreens are a risky proposition with DSL.

DSL uses a special XWindows server called "KDrive" or "TinyX".  This server does work with some touch screens, especially if the touch screen plugs into a standard PS/2 mouse port and emulates a standard mouse.

If not, you may need to install gpm and use it in "repeater mode", or worst case you may need to install the same Xwindows system (called XFree86) that is used by Red Hat and Suse.

Good Luck.

Thanks, well no one ever said it would be easy. All I know is that I have great faith in Linux (and DSL).

Will keep all posted.
