After installing vnc.dsl & putting ssh start to bootlocal.sh (perhaps nothing to do with X problem), Got X problems. So, how to easily restore or upgrade X? Using DSL 2.78.

Did you try to try to remove vnc.dsl from loading?
Or your ssh line?

What X problems? Explain.

You could run xsetup, or use the full XF86 extension, though I'd suggest as a very last resort.

Version 2.78? Never heard of it. You probably saw knoppix-2.78 on init which is not the DSL version.

xauth: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: cannot open shared object, no such a file or directory. Yes it was Knoppix v. num. xsetup does not help. removing ssh start from bootlocal.sh does not help. vnc.dsl was only installed, not put to start yet.

It appears that vnc.dsl also requires gnu-utils as libX11.so.6 is in gnu-utils.
Try loading the .dsl or .unc version

Please let me know and I will update vnc.dsl info file.

Ok, it was gnu-utils missing. Thanks, for a now everything ok! (I put the .dsl version)
