Hey all,

Running DSL on a very old IBM THinkpad, when booting, i do not get a choice of Xvesa, or the other one, nor do i get to choose resolution or color depth, when i get into fluxbox, only a portion of the desktop is viewable, it sets the desktyop to 1032x 7??, 32-bit depth, i run xsetup.sh as root to try and change it, it responds with ressolution is 10..x7.. 32 bit, -mouse, mouse

Sorry for the inaccurate resolutions but i cannot think of what they acutally are at this moment

i choose mode 0 and its all good, how do i make it so it always picks mode 0?

Since you installed to hard drive, you can edit /etc/lilo.conf and add the vga=normal to get rid of the "undefined mode error". Then run the lilo command to install your new lilo.conf. If you were booting from liveCD then you could haved used the boot option boot dsl vga=normal. In fact, if you had used that boot option before you installed to hard drive, it would have been installed to hard drive with vga=normal.
