i want to try out a newer fluxbox so i can have transparancy etc.

the my dsl info says to edit the line in xinitrc with fluxbox to opt/fluxbox9.0.11
but there is more than one reference to fluxbox.
do i change them all ?
and will it be worth my while, much difference etc?

also, will this need to be added to bootlocal.sh?

By default I think there is only 1 reference to fluxbox in user dsl's .xinitrc

exec fluxbox <-- replace this

Well, no harm in trying it and seeing if you like it.

bootlocal.sh will not have to be modified since xinitrc takes care of X startup apps.

i got it and i love the transparent menus, but it seems to use a bit more ram and slowed things down  which i cant afford on this wee toshiba.

so back to the default!
still it was a learning experience!

Heh, there are some other useful features in this version, but yes, transparent windows and such do take more memory.

is there a guide tp using all its features somewhere?
i could keep it for now to show off how nice it is to the hubby(a diehard windows fan!)  compared to windows(then sneak it onto his pc!)

oh, and i changed the theme and cant get back the new one!
