I am running DSL-N on my laptop in VMware workstation, my laptop has a screen resolution of 1280x800 but the only option I see in the x setup close to my resolution is 1024x786 or 1280x1024. The VM is set to allow upto 1280x800 but I can not find that option in X setup. How do I change the resolution?

I'm not sure that Xvesa supports 1280x800, you will probably have to try the XFree86 or xorg-7.2 mydsl extensions

Thank you

Ok, I looked for that under the MyDSL app but did not see either of them. Where should I download one of those packages from?

See < http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/wiki/index.php/Vga%3Dxxx >

Depending on your video chipset, you may be able to use one of the updated tinyx servers for it which may have better support.  This is also in mydsl.

Look again, they're there.  The xorg one is a .uci

My laptop screen is 1280x800, I run dsl at 1280x1024x24, and it looks great.  But I see your problem is something to do with VMWare.
