Both opera and skype both want to be like 10x the size of the screen (800x600), and they are both linked with Qt. At first I ran the static versions, they glitched so i got the latest Qt libraries - still doesn't work. Is it a problem with the X server in DSL? I tried to apt-get install xfree86 (to upgrade it to debian unstable) but after upgrade still has the same problem.

Someone want to run either of these guys (HD-install) and see what happens?

I have installed on my HDInstalled DSL laptop both the
opera.uci and the skype.tar.gz from the repository..
The work and look fine here..

While extensions are designed for liveCD and frugal/poormans installs,
these two seem to work fine on my hdinstall ..

I have not upgraded any part of my system.
This HDInstall is fresh and pristine from the DSL CD

I tried the dsl package for skype - it appears that it works only if run as root as I accidentaly discovered. If run as user DSL, it takes over the screen again!  The "official" package from skype does this too I now discovered. Any idea why this could be happening?
