Hi,

i want to use DSL to watch TV with my tvcard.
Now X makes a problem. I installed tvtime, but it doesn't work.
Thats the problem:

Xlib: extension "XVideo" missing on display ":0.0".
xvoutput: XVIDEO extension not found: X too old? didnt load extmod?

So i tried to find the XFree86config file oder something like this to see if extmod has been loaded, but i cant find a config file. Not in /etc/X11 or anywhere else.
You talked about the configfiles in some other threads, but i cannot find it. Also there is no XFrre86config folder in /home/dsl...

please help me :-( Otherwise I have to look for another distribution, but i like DSL very much :-)

THX

It could be a limitation of the Xvesa server, though I'm just guessing.
If this is the case you might try the XFree86.dsl extension

Xawtv can work, you need a working .xawtv config file though.
It works with existing kdrive server, without Xfree.
At least with my Gforce mx440 and Leadtek Winfast card it does.
Having said that, I have never done an apt-get and installed it.
But I made an extension of the stable version which will never be
submitted, as it will hang if pre-install configuration is not done-
that is, the .xawtv config file.
