HI folks!

I got a Toshiba Portege for a gift, no cdrom, no floppy...

I removed the HD, installed DSL and now I have 1024x768 on a screen that does only support 800x600 and I´m f*ing too stupid to find where to change that. xsetup.sh does not do it for I have to use XFBdev (Xvesa turns the screen all nice stripey blue) and anything I write into lilo commandlines is properly ignored...

I´m sure it is not much so, if anyone finds the time, your help is highly appreciated..

Cheers from Vienna,

Press the F3 key at boot time for other framebuffer boot codes.

For example:

dsl vga=788 xsetup

for an 800x600x16bit framebuffer.

If you have an hdinstall or a frugal install, you will need to edit your lilo.conf and change the vga= code to the new number.

Then save the file and re-run lilo again.

Hell, yeah. Aint it amazing what you can do with a little number.

Lilo.conf accepts my vga=0x314 (800x600x16) well. Seems I forgot the "0x" .... shame on me.

Thanks a lot!
