Xvesa memory leakForum: X and Fluxbox Topic: Xvesa memory leak started by: hudson Posted by hudson on May 19 2005,18:46
Yup, I've got an old Toshiba laptop running Xvesa and fluxbox.I'm sitting here watching 'top' output and running watch -n 60 pmap <Xvesa_pid> | grep -w total and see relentless increase in the amount of RAM this process is using. The version of Xvesa I have is dated Jun 14 2004 with size 640504 md5sum `which Xvesa` shows 19bc88c5971a2637e805ba0aa04eb681 Does a newer version of this exist without the memory leak? Otherwise, how might I provide better debug output for those interested parties? Posted by hudson on May 19 2005,19:06
Interesting... looks like every 3 to 4 minutes it takes exactly an additional 128K...

I had noticed a similar thing a while back, thats why I switched to the Xfbdev server instead.

hmmm... I tried to use Xfbdev but my mouse wouldn't work... I might have to load XFree86 in a custom remaster...Edit: Doh!! Nevermind, I made the stupid mistake, thought I had USB mouse on this system :P |
